Junior Discovery (1.5 years old & above)
In the Junior Discovery program, children are involved in the study of music as they explore long and short sounds (rhythm), high and low sounds (pitch), patterns of sound (form), loud and soft sounds (dynamics) etc.
In addition, the children develop musical skills such as singing, listening, playing instruments (percussion), creating, and become familiar with music symbols, and are introduced to rhythm, aural skills, recognition of keys, perfect pitch and musical perception. This is done through the use of keyboard, educational toys, percussion instruments, flash cards and other interesting aids.
Through group singing of songs, your child learns to sing in tune. Musical exploration is continued as they are led by the teacher in activities such as listening, moving and dancing to songs and musical recordings, as well as other creative activities.
The children will also be introduced to famous composers and their representative works as well as various musical instruments - how they look and sound.
The activities and our environment also develops your child’s cognitive, language, emotional, social and motor skills.
Each session is 45 minutes and parents/guardian are to come into the class and share their children's joy of learning every session.
Our curriculum is based on an extensive survey of research related to the development of music cognition in young children. The goals are to be excited, enriched and enjoy music in a fun and engaging way. Our activities are designed in an imaginative and progressive manner so as to stimulate the minds of young children. As children learn to speak before they learn to write, we present our classes in the same way.
We use a multi-sensory approach which involves singing, playing, moving, listening and watching. Music literacy is presented in a developmentally appropriate sequence through songs, games, flash cards, movements and exploration of instruments. Keyboard knowledge is also introduced.
Our young musicians are gradually exposed and trained in the areas of performance, theory, aural (i.e. ear training), singing, composition etc. These basic skills prepare and provide them with a strong foundation for formal music education (e.g. piano, violin, voice etc).
Most importantly we also aim to instill confidence in each and every child to experiment, improvise and create their own music. This confidence will then lend itself as they grow and be applicable in their other areas of development and growth.
Junior Musician (4 years old & above)
Piano or Violin
The class continues to use the teaching concepts of the earlier levels, such as note reading, rhythm, aural skills, recognition of keys, pitch singing, perfect pitch, musical perception, memory training (photographic and audio). Further aural training includes dictation and sight singing.
We offer either a keyboard-based or violin-based course, and we hope to lead students to cultivate the discipline and passion for instrumental playing.
Upon graduation, the child can progress to individual classes, on his or her way to ABRSM Grade 1!
Each session is 60 minutes, and parents/guardian are invited to come into the class in the last 5 minutes to get the teacher’s feedback and instructions on how to guide their children in the coming week.
Individual Piano (Classical, Pop and Jazz) / Voice / Violin / Cello / Music Theory & Composition / Drums / Guitar (Acoustic, Classical, Electric, Bass)/ Ukulele
We adopt a unique approach to teaching music, which includes
✓ An initial interview and discussion with a senior faculty before the commencement of lessons;
✓ Regular discussion of requirements and progress with our teachers including the review and setting of targets;
✓ Annual progress report;
✓ Option to sit for the ABRSM theory & practical examinations; and
✓ Challenging and supportive performing opportunities such as concerts and other performance opportunities which build confidence and promotes the sharing and appreciation of music.
Our lessons are conducted by qualified teaching professionals (including Masters degree and PhD holders in music), supervised and trained by our Principal, who is a USA-trained Masters degree holder with many dedicated years of teaching music.

WHAT THE PROGRAM IS ABOUT
1. Train students who possess the abilities and interest to have an accelerated music training.
2. Give students more opportunities to perform in public.
3. Allow students of similar talent an opportunity to work and learn from one another.
PROGRAMME MODULES
(I) INDIVIDUAL INSTRUMENTAL CLASS
Students get a weekly individual piano class. Syllabus of each grade is to be completed in an accelerated speed.
Regular practice is needed in order to benefit from this program.
(II) THEORY
Students are to attend a weekly group theory lesson.
(III) PERFORMANCE CLASS
Attend a monthly performance class. Each student is to play his/her current repertoire. This prepares them for future performances and examinations. This will be conducted by Juzmusic’s principal.
Junior playtime (2.5 years old & above)
Junior Playtime is a continuation of the teaching concepts from Junior Discovery.
We progress to introduce note reading, rhythm, aural skills, recognition of keys, pitch singing, perfect pitch, musical perception, and memory training. Further aural training includes dictation and sight singing. This is done through the use of keyboards, musical toys, percussion instruments, flash cards and other interesting aids.
Students will also start learning how to play the keyboard and read simple scores.
The program prepares your child for further musical studies, and this early exposure helps them tremendously, as it enhances their self-expression, confidence, motor skills, creativity and IQ development. More importantly, we make music fun and entertaining, thus laying the right foundation for their future musical learning journey.
The activities and our environment also develops your child’s cognitive, language, emotional, social and motor skills.
Each session is 45 minutes and parents/guardian are to come into the class and share their children's joy of learning every session.
